Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the OpenUp mobile app and this website. By creating an account or downloading the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use OpenUp.

1. The service

OpenUp is an intentional dating product. Features include profiles, discovery, likes, matches, a reveal phase, chat, optional Deep Reveal, and optional Premium. We may change or discontinue features.

2. Eligibility

• You are at least 18 years old
• You will provide accurate profile information
• You will not already have a banned account
• Use is allowed where you live

3. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping sign-in codes private. We may suspend or deactivate accounts that break these terms, harm others, or fail photo and safety review.

4. Community rules

Do not:

• Harass, threaten, or solicit anyone
• Post illegal, sexual, or violent content involving minors
• Use someone else’s photos or impersonate another person
• Scam, spam, or promote commercial services without permission
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the service
• Circumvent likes, reveal, or Premium limits

Photos must be of you. We moderate uploads and may remove content or accounts.

5. Matches, reveal, and chat

A like is not a promise. Chat unlocks after the reveal steps for that match. We do not guarantee matches, replies, or compatibility. Meet offline at your own judgment; tell a friend, meet in public, and never send money to someone you met on the app.

6. Premium

Premium is optional. Prices shown in the app (or billed by Apple or Google) apply. Store purchases are billed by Apple or Google under their terms. Cancel through the store account you used. Fees are generally non-refundable except where the store or law requires otherwise.

7. Intellectual property

OpenUp, the wordmark, and the app design are ours. You keep rights to the content you post, and you grant us a license to host and display it so the service can run. Do not copy the app or our branding.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” Dating involves risk. We do not conduct criminal background checks on every user. We are not liable for conduct of other people, offline meetings, or lost data, except where we cannot legally limit liability (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, OpenUp’s total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using OpenUp and request account deletion at any time. We may end access if you break these terms. Sections that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limits on liability) remain in effect.
